Subject: What does the XDCAM Import Component do?
Date: 10/9/06
The Flip4Mac XDCAM MXF Import component allows ingest from Sony XDCAM digital acquisition tools to Apple Final Cut Pro HD or Final Cut Pro 5 real-time editing software.
For Final Cut Pro HD users, the Flip4Mac XDCAM Import Component provides direct file ingest of MXF content from the Sony XDCAM Camcorder and PDW-1500 Compact Deck for DV editing. For Final Cut Pro 5 users, Flip4Mac XDCAM Import Component adds ingest from the Sony eVTR IMX MPEG video tape recorder for DV or IMX MPEG editing. The Flip4Mac XDCAM Import Component produces a .mov file that can be used for editing. File transfer is performed over a 10/100/1000 Base T Ethernet connection.
Neither the PDW-F350 nor the PDW-F330 camcorders have Ethernet as an option - they only support File Access Mode over i.LINK.
The PDW-F70 and PDW-F30 decks support File Access Mode over i.LINK as a standard option. Gigabit Ethernet is an optional card that is available from Sony.
